A visit to Grandpa Richardsons Farm!

When we go for a visit to KY we always like to go and see the farm. Britt's parents bought some farm land a few years ago. They have cleaned it up and are hoping to build a home there in the future. It is so pretty out there. The kids love to have their ride on the tractor and throw rocks into the creek! I love to see the old barns. It was cold the day we went so we didn't stay a long time, but we enjoyed it and are looking forward to our next trip.

Knuckle Treatment!

While we were in Kentucky during Christmas we formed our own band. We are KNUCKLE TREATMENT and we are AWESOME! The members in our band are... Britt on the drums, TARA on the base guitar, CRAIG on the guitar, STEPH and MATT co lead singers. We are hoping to go on tour in 2010. Hopefully we can all get together and practice again soon! So much fun!

Visit with Pop and Nanny

We went to Kentucky on the 26th to be with Britt's family for the holidays. I will add more about that later. While we were there we were able to drive up to Tennessee and see Britt's grandparents. They are both 90 and have had a rough 2007 and 2008. This was an important trip for us. We really felt we needed to go see them and have the kids and us spend some time with them. They moved into a assisted living home a few years ago. They had to sell their home and we wanted to see it one more time. So we first went to get some pictures of it. This was especially hard on Britt who has had alot of fun memories spent in their home.

It was on to see them next and take them out for lunch. The assisted living place is really nice. It was all decorated for Christmas and looked really festive. We went to lunch at the Cracker Barrell and then ran a few errands with them, then headed back to visit and take pictures. Britt's brothers Matt and Craig and their families were there as well. The only one missing was Scott and his wife (Britts oldest brother).

Pop took the little kids for a walk around the halls to show them where they eat and have activities. That was special.

It was so nice to be able to spend some time with them and so hard to leave them. They are wonderful people. We feel very lucky to have such good grandparents on both sides of the family who love us for who we are and cheer us on in all we do!

December 28th - A special day!

HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY JACKSON!!

Christmas Morning!

This was Rylie's favorite thing Santa brought her - Roller Skates.Jackson's #1 thing he asked Santa for - Dallas Cowboy's jersey. Thank goodness he brought it!
Rugby got a new bed for older dogs. It has some kind of foam in it that conforms to her body. I am sure if she could talk she would have asked for it though. After we took the bow off she climbed right in and didn't move for a few hours.

After we opened everything and played for a bit we had our tradition of cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate for breakfast.
We had a fun day of putting together Lego's (6 long hours) playing games and singing on Rylie's new karaoke machine. What a great gift for a family that can't sing a note. Don't you wish you could be a fly on our walls? Merry Christmas 2008!

Piano Recital

Rylie had her second piano recital in December. What a difference 6 months make. In her first one she played only on one hand with 3 other girls in parts. This one she played two songs "Jolly Old St Nicholas" and "Ode to Joy" with two hands going at the same time. She did a great job! She really takes piano seriously, practices everyday for 20 minutes. She sets her timer and everything and I rarely have to ask her to practice. I will just hear her doing it. I really wish that I would have been like that when I was taking. One of my biggest regrets, not taking piano seriously when I was younger. I guess Rylie and my mom will be the piano players in the family. Hopefully she will play like my mom, she pays beautifully.
